Dota 2 is a strategic game where two teams, each composed of 5 players, compete against each other. The goal of each team is to destroy the opponent's base, known as the Ancient.

Gameplay Basic QUICK RULES:

1. Hero Selection: Each player chooses to play as one of over 100 heroes.

2. Creep Lanes: There are three creep lanes between the bases of the teams. Creeps move along these lanes, attacking the enemy base.

3. Gold and Experience Acquisition: Players can earn gold and experience by killing creeps, destroying towers, and killing enemy heroes.

4. Item Purchase: Gold can be used to purchase items to strengthen heroes.

5. Tower Attack: Creeps and heroes can attack and destroy the enemy team's towers.

6. Ancient Attack: Once all towers are destroyed, the Ancient can be attacked. The team that destroys the Ancient wins.
